Codman’s test


Codman’s test – typically used in the assessment of a suspected rotator cuff tear.


Drop-arm test


Drop arm test is used to assess for full thickness rotator cuff tears, particularly of the supraspinatus


Procedure of Drop-arm test


  1. Stand behind the seated patient
  2. Passively abduct the patient’s arm to 900 and full external rotation, while supporting the arm at the elbow
  3. Release the elbow support
  4. Ask patient to slowly lower the arm back to neutral
