Definition:
MPI is a Doppler-derived echocardiographic index assessing global cardiac function (systolic + diastolic).
▶ Formula
MPI = (IVCT + IVRT) / ET
Where:
• IVCT = Isovolumic Contraction Time
• IVRT = Isovolumic Relaxation Time
• ET = Ejection Time
