Reduction of systolic and pulse pressure in the post ectopic beat seen in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) called the “Brockenbrough-Braunwald-Morrow phenomenon”.


HOCM – post premature ventricular contraction beat

  • Paradoxical decline in arterial pulse pressure
  • Concomitant rise in left ventricular systolic pressure

Also can be found in cases of valvular aortic stenosis.
