Hot potato voice
- Caused by upper airway obstruction
- Seen in – Peritonsillar Abscess
- Mechanism – “Hot potato” voice – Muffled voice – secondary to dysfunction of the palatal muscles on the affected side, resulting in velopharyngeal insufficiency
